Feed The Muse

Check it out...the gang over at Feed The Muse put together a spot for their fan-funding site using Sunbelt State...

The Breast

The Breast is an 89 page book by Philip Roth. One of my favorite authors. It may seem hard to wrap your head around this short novel, but I'm sure most of you can find it quite interesting and funny. To keep it short it is about a Professor named David Kepesh who slowly transforms into a 155 pound female breast. I wont give out anymore details because of the shortness of the story, but I will say it is Hilarious and at times very touching. Its a quick read and I suggest you get your hands on it.

A Serious Man

The Coen Brothers bran new film. I was honestly blown away by this movie. I wouldn't be surprised if 75% of you didn't hear about it. It's been kept under the main stream and I think it fits very well in the underground film group. A Serious Man is Insightful, Original, resonant, simple yet complex. The Coen Brothers never get it wrong. They are genius's!!! They seem to top themselves every time. Please please please find time to see this movie.  http://www.filminfocus.com/focusfeatures/film/a_serious_man/

The Plot Against America

I've been reading this book for a while now and I have to say I love it. The book is Dark, Haunting, Funny, and painfully moving. Phillip Roth "my favorite author" has a way of pulling you in and twisting your emotions. This book is more believable with every chapter I pass. Please check it out... http://www.amazon.com/Plot-Against-America-Philip-Roth/dp/1400079497/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1259006450&sr=8-1-spell

Bored to Death

I just got done watching the first season of Bored To Death. The show stars Jason Schwartzman.

You may know him from Wes Anderson films like Rushmore,
and the Darjeling Limited.
Another popular movie you may know him from is I Heart Huckabees.

I thought the show was off and on funny but it kept me watching. I found myself watching it every week to see what would happen next. the basic premise of the show is pretty simple. Jason is a writer and has one book out. the whole season hes trying to write another, and cant seem to get it out of him. In the midst of it all his girlfriend dumps him and loses a lot in his life so he becomes and unlicensed private detective. the cast is good and includes Ted Danson

and Zach Galifianakis as two of the other main characters.

give it a try.

Nurse Jackie

I haven't heard too much about the Showtime original series Nurse Jackie to much and I decided to check it out to see if it was good or not. To my surprise I find it very interesting and entertaining. Nurse Jackie stars Edie Falco "the wife of Tony Soprano in the hit TV show The Sopranos". This show goes much deeper then you think it would. Give it a chance.  http://www.sho.com/site/nursejackie/home.do

Levi's 510 Super Skinny Jeans

I've bought about three pairs of Levis 510 Supper Skinny Jeans in the past two weeks. I buy one pair and I want another. they are by far the most comfortable, best fitting, and best looking jeans I've ever owned. There tight, but not to tight that they make me look like one of those sweet ass 10Th grade skaters. Also there stretchy feel makes them great to wear on stage. Especially for drummers. Check them out on Levis web site. They got great stuff other than jeans too.

The Hives!

I have really been into The Hives lately. Through the years I've heard a lot about them but never gave them a listen. I assumed they would be a little too over the top for me. Turns out they're perfect for me. My taste in music has changed in so many ways and they seem to fit right in with my life now. Music gets me through each day. I don't know what I would do without The Hives' clever instrumentation and charming lyrics. The Hives are pure inspiration in my eyes. Check out My favorite album by The Hives. Tyrannosaurus Hives. Give their latest album a listen too. The Black and White Album.

Check em out video-wise, too:

Edgar Allen Poe

I started a book called Collected Tales And Poems Of Edgar Allan Poe and I'm really excited about it. I went through the first two story's The Tell-Tail Heart and The Black Cat. I find them both fooling with the notion of Karma. I really dig his writing style and think hes quite ahead of his time. When I read books its usually like a span of time where I read and then put it down for a while. I think I'm going to need to finish this in one span of time. Does anyone have a favorite story or poem to suggest to me? Let me know. If you need a little help, go here: http://www.poestories.com/

thanks to SIRXLEM for the pic of Mr. Poe.

Phrazes for the Young

Everyone knows Julian Casablancas as a song writer and lead singer for The Strokes. I suggest you get to know him as a solo artist as well. Explore Julian's synth/keyboard/electronic side on his new album Phrazes for the Young. I find the album uplifting in its Melody's, instrumentation, and words. Before listening I suspected to hear a Strokesy sound and I was most certainly surprised by this new sound Casablancas is exploring. I don't expect everyone to like this, and for the die hard Stokes fans keep an open mind. Its nice to hear how far away from the Strokes Julian has gone with this new album. Really lets you know how much band members have influence on each other and how there musical horizons widen through time. check it out!

Check out his music:

Thanks 88.5...

I don't know how many times a day i say to myself "the radio fucking blows." I don't work often because I'm busy with The Fleeting Ends. When i do work it is for my father installing, cleaning, repairing carpets in which I am blessed with the wonderful sounds of "lowest common denominator radio." I wont totally bash radio, sometimes they play a song here and there that is actually quite enjoyable. Most of the time while I'm installing carpets I yell out "God I hate this song." Only a few times out of the week the radio surprises me. I always have my Ipod or a CD playing in the car but never radio. If I do listen to radio its 88.5 WXPN. best radio station you can find in the USA I bet. My point, Radio blows, don't subject yourself to it willingly, if you have to listen to radio make it 88.5.

Curb Your Enthusiasm

I have to say one thing. Funniest fucking show on television. I need to say more. Larry David the co-creator and executive producer of Seinfeld strikes me as a comical genius. Forget Seinfeld this show is better in so many ways.

Larry puts himself in the most unbelievable but at the same time believable situations that stick to your mind and keep you laughing for hours. The cast is amazing and the acting is perfect. I laugh the entire time. The show is on its seventh season now and is funnier than ever. It took me a little growing up to realize how funny the show is and I'm glad I re discovered it. Curb your Enthusiasm is on HBO Sundays at 9:00 PM. Watch this show!
