I Walked
If you’re a Sufjan Stevens fan, you may want to check out Stereogum’s website for a streaming track from his upcoming album- “The Age of Adz”. Pretty cool elctro-percussion. http://stereogum.com/488202/sufjan-stevens-i-walked/mp3s/

Alternative Monitor
Check out this really cool music blog called Alternative Monitor. It’s composed of articles and interviews with local musicians, and exposes a side of them via off-the-beaten-track questions. It’s a quick and easy (and amusing) way to read up on your local artists, and maybe discover some bands you’ve never heard of. http://alternativemonitor.com/

Spoon and Arcade Fire at The Mann
Arcade Fires performance was filled with high energy, crowd interacting, mature but childish action mixed with good old fashion showmanship. Stage props consisted of a gigantic backdrop of an underpass and highway. Infront of the back drop was a tall standing billboard acting as a projection screen lined with blinding lights. All through the show a mix of live footage and pre filmed footage was shown. It was all we expected it to be.
Despite Arcade Fires amazing performance and stage props Spoon still came out on top dominating the stage with raw and powerful songwriting. The performance was Rock and Roll at it's best. Spoon's stage setup consisted of a large white curtain and small white screens with flashing lights behind. The drums and amps were lined with light bulbs.... Quite a difference from Arcade Fires elaborate setup. Spoon didn't need a thing other than instruments and a couple of mic's to get the point across. The point is: Spoon is one of the best bands in rock and roll. In our opinion they stole the night and inspired us in ways we couldn't imagine. Plus: We've never seen Spoon before. They are one of our top favorites. =)

When You are Engulfed in Flames
Why does David Sedaris keep churning out unbelievably funny collections of stories? How does he get into so many hilarious, asinine situations, and somehow portray them in a way that makes himself and the reader learn more about life and love? You wouldn’t think telling a story about how a throat lozenge fell from his mouth and into the lap of another passenger on an airplane would accomplish this task. Check it out at http://search.barnesandnoble.com/When-You-Are-Engulfed-in-Flames/David-Sedaris/e/9780316032513/?itm=1&USRI=when+you+are+engulfed+in+flames
